Sanjay Nirupam: Quit Before Congress Sacked Him

After being expelled by Congress yesterday, Sanjay Nirupam has stated that the party sent him a letter of expulsion as soon as he submitted his resignation last night. The former MP shared his letter of resignation, dated April 3, in a post on X.

It appears that the party decided to expel me as soon as they received my letter of resignation last night. It’s good to see such quick thinking. Just passing along this information. In the post, he stated, “Today between 11.30 and 12 PM, I will give a detailed statement.”

Due to his lack of discipline and remarks critical of the Congress, Mr. Nirupam was dismissed from the organization yesterday for a six-year term. The action came after the leader of Mumbai made harsh comments regarding seat-sharing in Maharashtra for the Lok Sabha election, directed at Congress’s INDIA ally, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray).

“Taking note of complaints of indiscipline and anti-party statements, Congress president (Mallikarjun Kharge) has approved the expulsion of Sanjay Nirupam from the party for six years with immediate effect,” according to a party communication.

Yesterday, the Congress unit in Maharashtra had pushed for action against Mr. Nirupam. He was also removed from the party’s roster of celebrity candidates for the next round of elections. Mr. Nirupam intended to run for office again from the Mumbai North-West seat, where he was previously defeated by Gajanan Kirtikar of the Shiv Sena.

However, the son of Gajanan Kirtikar, Amol Kirtikar, was declared the candidate by the Uddhav Thackeray-led party. After that, Mr. Nirupam stated that the Sena faction could not win any seats without the backing of Congress and that the state Congress leadership should not be coerced by Mr. Thackeray’s party. He referred to Mr. Thackeray as the leader of the “Bachi Khuchi Shiv Sena,” making a personal attack on him.

Sanjay Nirupam was Angry with MVA Alliance

Nirupam Mahavikas, a former Mumbai North MP, expressed dissatisfaction with the Aghadi parties’ seat sharing. He kept repeating that the UBT/Shiv Sena was attempting to dismantle Congress. He had recommended ending the MVA alliance to the high command of Congress.

Additionally, he had voiced his disapproval of Shiv Sena’s (UBT) slate of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. He had told the high command of Congress that the party in the state needed to break this alliance in order to survive.

Party Going Through a Financial Crisis: Sanjay NirupamĀ

The leader of the Congress party stated on Wednesday on social media under the handle X, “The Congress party should not waste much energy and stationery for me.” Instead, salvage what little energy and stationery you still have to save the party. In any case, there is a serious financial crisis facing the party. Today marks the end of the one-week period that was granted to me. I’ll make my own decision tomorrow.

Sanjay Nirupam attacked Congress in a Press Conference

During a press conference, Sanjay Nirupam sharply criticized the Congress high command. He claimed that at around 10:40 a.m. yesterday, I sent Mallikarjun Kharge my resignation and made an announcement. The leaders of the Congress party have stated that the party is ideologically aimless and that the party is totally split.

He claimed that the Congress party now has five power centers instead of the previous one and that each of the five has a lobbying team that constantly competes with the other. Priyanka Gandhi is in the third center, Rahul Gandhi is in the second, President Mallikarjun Kharge is in the fourth, and Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal is in the fifth and final center. Each is pursuing politics in their own unique manner.
