Organize Your Thoughts Through Instagram Notes

Instagram has released an update for those who frequently use Notes on the platform. The company has now made Instagram Notes visible on profiles, allowing friends to view a person’s brief status individually. However, this does not imply that Notes are disappearing from the DMs section. The feature will be visible in both locations, which increases its visibility.

Instagram Notes Will Be Visible in Two Places

Instagram is expanding the visibility of Instagram Notes by integrating the feature into user profiles, allowing a wider audience to access and utilize it. Previously, Notes were exclusively viewable within the Inbox or DMs section, occupying the top space and showcasing Notes from all friends who posted them. However, users can now individually access people’s Notes by visiting their profile pages.

This move by the Meta-owned app is likely aimed at enhancing user engagement on the platform, thereby increasing overall app usage. Although Notes will now appear in multiple locations, they remain visible for 24 hours, similar to Stories. Therefore, users should be aware that Notes have a limited lifespan.

Additionally, Instagram Notes operate on a mutual basis, requiring both users to follow each other to view each other’s Notes. Users cannot access Notes from celebrities or other accounts they follow if those accounts do not follow them back. To utilize Notes, users can navigate to the DMs section, select the ‘Your note’ option at the top, compose or add desired content, and then tap the Share button.

In addition to this update, Instagram is introducing a new ‘cutouts’ feature, which serves as a sticker-maker tool within the app. This feature enables users to create stickers from their gallery photos, which can be utilized in Reels and Posts. The ‘cutouts’ feature will be accessible when users attempt to create a new Reel or Post.

Furthermore, Instagram recently announced significant advancements in teen safety measures on the platform. This includes the introduction of a nudity protection feature in DMs, which will prompt users to reconsider before sharing intimate images and automatically blur photos containing nudity. For users under 18, the nudity protection feature will be activated by default, aiming to enhance safety and privacy for younger users.
