Govinda Joins Shinde Shiv Sena: I am back

Bollywood star Govinda Joins Shinde Shiv Sena, the political party of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, on Thursday, adding a glamorous touch to the state’s impending Lok Sabha election. Govinda will probably run from Mumbai North West when he returns to politics. When Govinda ran for Lok Sabha in 2004 from Mumbai North on a Congress ticket, he defeated Ram Naik of the BJP, earning the nickname “giant slayer.” After that, he quit his involvement in politics completely and left the party.

Govinda Joins Shinde Shiv Sena with divine blessings. “I had assumed that I wouldn’t pursue politics once more,” Govinda declared upon receiving his official party induction from Eknath Shinde. Under Eknath Shinde, Govinda claimed that Mumbai now appears better and cleaner. The actor claimed that Govinda’s parents got along well with Balasaheb Thackeray, the founder of the Shiv Sena.

After meeting Eknath Shinde last week, rumors were circulating that Govinda would be considering a second term in politics. Sena leader Krishna Hedge met the actor at his Juhu residence on Thursday morning. Govinda avoided discussing whether or not to run for the Lok Sabha, but Eknath Shinde stated that the actor’s admission to the party is unconditional.

Rajya Sabha MP Milind Deora welcomed Govinda to the party, stating that he had known the seasoned Bollywood star for twenty-five years. Deora recalled that he and Govinda had fought together in the 2004 elections. “I’ve known Govinda for nearly twenty-five years.” Together, we fought elections in 2004. He had been brought to Congress by my late father. He is a good-hearted man who aspires to represent Mumbai, the nation’s cultural hub, and the creative sector, according to Milind Deora.
